Wainriders

The Wainriders were a people from Rhûn who used horse chariots when they faught. They attacked Gondor twice. The first time they managed to take over Rhovanion and held on to it for almost fourty years. The second time they allied with the people of Haradrim but they were destroyed and the wainriders disappeared from the history of Middle Earth.

 

 

Balchoth

The people of Gondor called the wainriders Balchoth. "Balc" means dreadful, frightful and "hoth" means horde.
